We’re relaunching UK Day One as the Centre for British Progress: a new think tank dedicated to building the future in Britain. UK Day One was an election year project to help the new Government pursue implementation ready policies for growth and we’re extremely proud of the work we’ve done. We can’t wait to use that momentum to build a case for growth that delivers shared progress, is rooted in our values and in Britain’s industrial heritage.
Growth isn’t an abstract goal — it’s how we raise living standards, renew public services, and give each generation a better life than the last. Without it, politics becomes a zero-sum game. With it, we can build a better future for all.
Today we’re publishing our founding essay: Rediscovering British Progress. It sets out how Britain got stuck — and how we can get growing again. It’s a call to reject conservatism, renting from the future, and impotence. It’s a call for dynamism, for building, and courage.
